Project DREAM --- A program designed to assist people in Southwest Oklahoma make their business ideas/dreams a reality – Developing Regional Entrepreneurs and Mentors.
The program has a wide gamut of elements, each of which is critical to start, grow and sustain a business - education, mentoring, linkages to service providers and sources of funding.
The program partners include service providers and existing businesses that are committed to assisting business start up and grow in the region.
Each of the partner organizations brings to the table relevant experiences, resources, and a common mission to successfully promote education and nurture an entrepreneurial spirit in the community and foster the initiation and sustainable growth of businesses in Southwest Oklahoma.
In the first year – 2011, the Program is being rolled out in 8 counties in the Southwestern Oklahoma region: Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, Stephens, and Tillman.
“The Project Dream Program is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who has an idea for a new business, product or service but who lacks the knowledge to implement the idea. The program will offer the basics of starting a business, provide links to resources for funding, manufacturing, and match budding entrepreneurs with mentors who have already successfully entered the business arena. This is an ideal learning experience for community members irrespective of age as well as business employees who are interested in starting their own business.”
